Just a little rant
Why the heck are some of my facebook friends so intolerant of anything aside from their own beliefs? I mean seriously…Hitchen’s recently died and all the comments and wall posts about him I see are either outright insults or passive aggressive insults.
Ex 1: Facebook friend 1 said that Hitchen’s death was the result of his “lack of faith and contradicting the Lord.”
I can’t believe there are still people like this. These people are just disgusting and terrible people. I mean really…they believe someone died because they didn’t follow the same god as they did? How in the world is that even logical? There have been a ridiculous amount of other religions over time and they have the nerve to say that their religion is the one true religion and that all those who don’t follow it will die and “burn in hell.” Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not against people having a religion. The majority of people that follow a religion are good, kind-hearted people. It’s just that when they start insulting others or pushing their beliefs onto others that I start getting pissed off.
Ex 2: Facebook friend 2 said “Even though he was a staunch atheist, intellectual giant Hitchens stood strong for America’s War on Terror. Rest in peace, I think.
*facepalm* I see the good intentions but why did you even have to mention he was an atheist if you were trying to impart that you cared about his death? You’re making it sound like being atheist is a bad thing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being atheist. We’re morally and physically no different from anyone with religious beliefs. On a side note, your post about keeping Christ in Christmas is retarded. Correct me if I’m wrong anyone reading this, but Christ was historically believed to have been born in Spring. The celebration of his birth was only moved to December 25th so that it coincided with the Pagan winter solstice festival. Also, his name isn’t Christ. That’s a title. If I recall correctly, his name was Yeshua.
tl;dr There’s nothing wrong with being atheist
On a more positive note, today on my flight back to socal I sat next to Professor Kathy Pezdek. Very interesting person.
and go sleep on a hill
Alright time to get off facebook
